ABOUT US

Born from a passion for coaching, the outdoor industry and an interest in people and how they learn, TTE came about from simply feeling like I needed to be my own boss for a bit.. I've gained experience in both coaching and Paddle-sports and Mountain Biking and have been lucky enough to work with and learn from some of the best in the business.I wanted to push forward a reactive and innovative coaching service for the learners I work with and create long term pathways and top end experiences. In short, the passion lived and breathed needed a different platform and TTE was born.

TTE offers top coaching, expert guiding, training and assessing, mentoring and technical advisory services to the outdoor sector from industry specialists. I can work with a range of people from first steps to hardened enthusiast (advanced courses) and a range of leadership, coaching and personal performance awards in conjunction with the BCAB (British Canoeing Awarding Body) scheme.

Meet Chris Evans

Who’s behind it all?

I'm Chris, the company owner. Adventure sports began for me thanks to an options week at school where I failed to get my chosen activites in in time. I'd put in for a computer skills week and was told it was full so I'd have to settle for the 'water skills' week instead and the rest is history! Not paying attention at school and spending way too much time in kayaks or canoes or on bikes followed and has led to an illustrious career in adventure sports coaching, despite being told I'd not make a living in boats or on bikes.

I've worked, paddled and biked all over the UK, Europe, California, New Zealand, Zambia, Canada, Norway and Nepal. The work patterns have been everything from freelancing for numerous companies, working for LEA centres, National Trainer work for the National Governing Body and working in numerous different roles for the national outdoor centre, Plas Y Brenin. Accomplishments, aside from a twenty year plus outdoor career with only a hernia operation and some glue or stitches for some minor injuries, include many instructional, coaching and leadership qualifications, British freestyle squad twice and the completion of an MSc in performance coaching (that’s right, I went back to school eventually).

I get excited by being part of peoples learning journeys, my beliefs around coaching are firmly rooted around having the participant at the heart of all interactions and directions. To truly get the best out of people and help move people toward achieving their goals, I believe that an appropriate blend of up to date knowledge, personal skills, equipment and choice venues are essential to achieving what people are after (personal excellence).
